Kevin Smith is undoubtedly excited about the episode he directed for the second season of The Flash, which will reunite Grant Gustin's Barry Allen with his childhood bully Girder (Greg Finley). As a matter of fact, the Mallrats filmmaker has just declared "The Runaway Dinosaur" as his "favorite thing" that he has "ever directed!"

In a recent episode of Smith's Fat Man on Batman Podcast with Marc Bernardin, the Clerks director spoke about the episode he worked on for the CW series.

"It is wonderful, dude," Smith gushed, explaining that he had to take out a few scenes because it was initially too long.

"First cut was 55 minutes, of my episode of The Flash that I directed," he said. "We got it down to the running time, it's 42 minutes."

In addition to that, Smith admitted that really enjoyed working on the Flash episode.

"It may be my favorite thing I've ever directed," he said of the episode, adding that although that doesn't mean he doesn't "like the movies" he has worked on, he feels strongly about how "The Runaway Dinosaur" turned out as "a directing exercise."

"Removing scripts and s--t like that and about how I personally feel about material, whether or not it generated from me, I think this is hands-down the best directing job I've ever done," Smith declared, admitting that he received some excellent reviews.

"I feel good and I've gotten some nice praise from upstairs," he shared before stating that he might be asked to direct an episode again "unless they catch me with a f---king dead girl or a live boy."

"I think I will be able to go back," Smith announced before confessing that he has seen the episode several times.

"I've watched it no less than 50 times," he confirmed. "It really holds up."

"The Runaway Dinosaur," the 21st episode of The Flash Season 2, will air on The CW on May 10.
