‘House of Cards’ Season 5 Spoilers: Will Robin Wright/Claire Underwood Be "POTUS" On Netflix?

Netflix's political thriller series, House of Cards season 5 will premiere in March 2017. It is being reported that the show will talk about women empowerment by letting Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) become the president of United States of America.

Major Spoilers if you haven't watched House of Cards season 4

In House of Cards season 4, we saw how Claire (played by Robin Wright) chose to stay away from her husband and current president of USA, Frank Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey). But when she again joined the hands of Frank and decided to keep their personal problems at another shore, things started to turn green for both of them. The season 4 also showed us Claire becoming the Vice President.

In season 4, we also saw how Frank was shot by Lucas Goodwin (played by Sebastian Arcelus), and how he got his liver transplant. The viewers remember that Frank is having some intense pain in his body due to the liver transplant. Does it mean that he may die in the next season? And, after he dies, will the vice-president take his place? A reddit user, Ekdash, believes that the medical condition of Frank will make him impeached, which will lead to Claire's presidency.

Romper reported that if Claire will stand for election then she will surely win, despite her supposed contentment as the vice-president. But there are  options that she is going to use the same tactics to win the election, which Frank has done in all the earlier seasons.

Another possible theories that swirl around the House of Cards, Frank's Chief of Staff, Doug Stamper (played by Michael Kelly) is going to die in order to save him. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kelly was asked what would it take for Stamper to recieve the bullet for Underwood, Kelly stated that Stamper would die for Frank.

"Without a doubt. I think Stamper would like to think he would have taken the gunman down before he had a chance to fire the bullet. That's Stamper. He would do anything for him as was proven with Rachel and what he did with the donor."

As for the Frank and Claire's relationship goes, we think that in season five, the couple is going to be stronger than ever.

Netflix has yet to announce the exact air date of the fifth season.
