After the success of live-action fairytale retellings like Maleficent and Jon Favreau's Jungle Book, Disney's planning a whole new outlook of new projects based on their classics library, including sequels and remakes. Recently, the studio has confirmed a lot of projects that had been previously rumored, like the Emily Blunt-starring Mary Poppins and the Reese Witherspoon Tinker Bell project.

According to Variety, the studio recently confirmed a series of new projects, most of which are based on classic Disney stories, and one of which comes from a Disneyland attraction, even though last year's George Clooney-led Tomorrowland didn't do as well as the studio had hoped.

For now, the confirmed remakes are a Jungle Cruise movie starring Dwayne Johnson; a live-action adaptation of Dumbo directed by Tim Burton, helming his second major Disney remake after Alice in Wonderland; a still-untitled Tinker Bell project starring Oscar winner Witherspoon and Cruella, a 101 Dalmations spinoff starring Emma Stone as a younger version of the fashionable villainess.

Upcoming sequels for already established remakes include Angelina Jolie returning for Maleficent 2, Jungle Book 2 confirmed less than a month after the first one was released, and the much talked-about Mary Poppins sequel with Blunt in the role that made Julie Andrews famous and co-starring Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator and current star of Broadway mega-hit, Hamilton.

Other projects include A Wrinkle in Time involving Selma director Ava DuVernay and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms directed by Lasse Hallström (Who's Eating Gilbert Grape?). There are also rumors of Snow White and Peter Pan live-action revivals.

Deadline reports that Disney has already set out several dates for films, though it was unspecified which days will match each movie, and the previously mentioned projects are all in different stages of development. The next films will come out, in order, on: July 28, 2017; April 6, 2018; August 3, 2018; December 25, 2018 and December 20, 2019.

The next live-action adaptation of a Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens in the title roles, will hit theaters on March 17, 2017.
