The Flash S02E19 Back To Normal Grant Gustin/Danielle Panabaker/Candice Patton Premiere Recap

The CW network continues with the mid-Season 2 premiere of The Flash. In Episode 18, are Iris West (Candice Patton), Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), the scarlet speedster, ready to survive Back To Normal?

Barry lives a regular day without his super powers. He has to take the bus and stand on line for coffee. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) can see Caitlin scared through his vibe powers. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) abandons the team to find Jesse. Without his powers, Barry can only fight crime through his CSI work.

Zoom (Teddy Sears) notices Caitlin hasn't been eating. When she says his name, Hunter's memories hit him hard. He frees Caitlin from her chain and vanishes. After finding the Man in the Iron Fist, she meets Killer Frost.  

Joe (Jesse L. Martin) isn't able to set up a meeting with Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale). Wells meets Jesse and her roommate in an apartment room. Jesse doesn't want to leave him; she's in danger because of him. Jesse cannot forgive him for killing someone. She's more afraid of him than Zoom.

Elsewhere, Wells crashes his car and gets kidnapped. With the crime rate rising, Barry and Cisco see Wells taken hostage. Killer Frost doesn't know what the man in the iron mask is. Killer Frost needs Caitlin's help to escape from Zoom's lair and get back home.

While Barry and Iris investigate the car crash, Wells wakes up and meets Griffin Grey. Earth-2 Wells isn't the man he's looking for.  Griffin Grey is aging rapidly because of particle accelerator explosion. if Wells can't fix him, Grey is going to kill him. 

Now with Jesse, Barry and the others work on an biochemical weapon against Grey. Killer Frost and Caitlin talk about their frigid mother and Charlie, their "brother." Meanwhile, Wally tells Joe that he needs to save thanks to the scarlet speedster for saving his life. 

At his hideout, Griffin starts throwing barrels at Joe and the team. Barry shoots, misses, and gets knocked down. Barry watches Grey aging even more before he leaves. 

Knowing Grey's weakness, Cisco and Jesse work on a plan. Iris reminds Barry that he is a hero with or without the suit. Though she helped her escape, Killer Frost betrays Caitlin and attacks her. After Killer Frost throws her icicle, Zoom catches the weapon, saving Caitlin, and stabs her with it.  

Barry's suit can only withstand one punch from Grey. Griffin starts beating Wells when the Flash shows up. As he continues again, Grey pummels the Flash with his fist before he hits the ground dead. With Grey back to normal, Jesse rescues and hugs her father. 

Back at STAR labs, Jesse explains the burden she has to bear. After losing his wife, Wells snapped after Zoom kidnapped Jesse. Wells promises he will be the father she deserves as long as Jesse doesn't runaway. 

Wally meets The Flash, thanks him, and promises not to waste his second chance. Caitlin begs Zoom to take her back home. Zoom will return to conquer her world.

Wells has to create another accelerator explosion to get Barry's powers back.
