Fashion designer, Angel Brinks, has been making waves since her debut on the hit VH1 show, Basketball Wives LA. Brinks is one of the most unique celebrity fashion designer's, who has dressed Hollywood's hottest stars including Blac Chyna, Amber Rose, Heidi Montag, Lil' Kim, Ashanti, Coco Austin and more in her signature line, Angel Brinks Fashion. After opening a flagship retail store in downtown LA, Brinks spoke with MStars News reporter, Star Connor about the launch, fashion, the latest Spring trends and of course Basketball Wives LA.

Brinks has been featured at NY Fashion Week and has a huge social following. She was also recently credited as a fashion expert, provided her feedback on the American Music Awards celebrity red carpet looks, especially for The Today Show.

Star Connor: Explain the method behind your unique fashion line, Angel Brinks Fashion. What actually inspired you?

Angel Brinks: "I grew up in the performing arts and I use to be in drama, the cheerleading team, dance and all of the on stage things. What really caught my eye was all of the glitz, glam, and sequence. All of the materials on stage that makes a performer look like an artist. Those type of things really caught my eye, and stood out growing up; I just love that type of wear. While going shopping, I could never find it so I decided to make my own clothes. And when I started making my own clothes, everyone would take notice and ask 'where did I get it,' and I told them I made them, so they would start making orders. So I decided to launch my own clothing line. I did name it after myself because I always wanted the girls to say, 'I'm wearing Angel Brinks.'"

Star Connor: How does it feel to be showing off your designs during Fashion Week?

Angel Brinks: "It is amazing. Just like anybody else that has a dream that they want to come true. That is my dream. Being in Fashion Week was really, really huge for me especially since that was my first year in fashion. I was able to see other fashion designers and see my work drawn out and come to life, and people wear it. It was beautiful."

Star Connor: Is there an area of fashion that you are currently focusing on in 2016?

Angel Brinks: "Absolutely. I'm actually focusing on a kids line. Not to sure if I'm going to do little boys, but I am going to do little girls. Because when I originally started, I was doing leggings. That was a huge trend because a lot of girls wanted different things from the stores. I think it will be cool to do little girls, because I'm such a girlie, girl."

Star Connor: We saw some of your fashion on Basketball Wives, how important to you is it to maintain a balance between the reality show, your designing, and being a single mother?

Angel Brinks: "That was kind of a weird situation. My friend, Draya Michelle contacted me and was like, 'Hey do you want to come on the show for this episode?' I didn't plan on staying on the show the entire season. It wasn't in my stars. Being that I am a designer and tied to the basketball world, it was a win, win situation. The show has two million viewers, that's two million that can be aware of my line. It is so hard! I put my heart into everything I do. I'm either all in or all out with my company. I'm very hands on. I have orders all the time. My kids are important, education is important. You want to make sure they are well taken care of. They have to understand that you have to work, and go after your dreams. That can be time consuming because their education is important. Kids require all of your time. So I'm just one of those super woman type people and I feel like I can handle a lot on my plate."

Star Connor: Are you returning to Basketball Wives?

Angel Brinks: "I will be returning for another season of Basketball Wives. It's an exciting time for me."

Star Connor: Draya Michele being your friend, recently had a baby boy earlier this month, does she inspire you to do a baby line, or maternity line?

Angel Brinks: "I thought about it. Back when I was pregnant, I wanted to do because I know the struggle of wanting to look good and your best, even though you don't feel like you are. I think that being pregnant is the most beautiful time in a woman's life. So I always thought, 'how can I help?' I have a lot of time, so I just want to do everything one by one and learn more about maternity."

Star Connor: For a young girl that is inspired by you or other fashion designers out there, what would you tell them?

Angel Brinks: "Do it! The world needs as many creative people as they can get. Fashion designing is an art. It's something that you feel the world needs to see, and fashion is everywhere, and everything. You see fashion at the Grammys, other awards, this or that, everyone is always looking at a red carpet. Everyone wants to be a trend setter, so I think fashion is amazing thing to get into. And if you really want, it there are ways to go about it. Don't give up ever."
