'Vampire Diaries’ News' Season 8 Spoilers: Ian Somherhalder Leaving Over Poor Ratings?

After Nina Dobrev's announcement of leaving  CW's "The Vampire Diaries" came in light, fans started to speculate over who will be next to leave the show before the final season 8. Well, it looks like due to the dropping ratings, Ian Somerhalder may make his exit. 

Somerhalder has been associated with The Vampire Diaries from the pilot episode and has portrayed a fan-favorite role of Damon Salvatore. Now, recent updates show that the Somerhalder is about to leave the show since he is currently not happy with the future of the TV series. There have been many speculations that he is going to depart from the show. Among them, Yibada reported that the most famous is of him sacrificing himself in order to save Bonnie Bennett (played by Kat Graham). Well, since Graham is also leaving the show, it would be interesting to see, how she will die.

Somehalder recently hinted about his exit from the show. The actor was recently having a Twitter conversation with his fans in which he talked about the show's end. However, he later clarified that the show is very much alive, but he cannot say about the future of his character.

While talking with TV Guide, the 37-year-old Somerhalder talked about his exit from the show and even hinted that there are many other characters who are going to leave the show by the end of this season.

"Last weekend I talked to an audience at a Q&A about the end of #TVD and how excited I was to make what I believe - my last year - be as great as possible," Somerhalder tweeted. "Somehow in my infinite wisdom and end-of-season foggy brain, I managed to make it sound like the show was coming to an end."

The last episode of season 7 is scheduled to air on May 13, 2016.
