CBS aired a major Season 5 event for Person of Interest. In an exclusive interview with MStars News, co-showrunners Jonathan Nolan, Greg Plageman, and executive producer Denise Thé talk about the 100th episode as the war brews between The Machine and Samaritan.

As we previously mentioned, when the first season started, former billionaire Harold Finch (Emerson) and ex CIA operative John Reese (Caviezel) raced against the clock to prevent violent crimes before they could happen. With the help of the artificial intelligence known as The Machine, they managed to save innocent lives right when their numbers popped up. But they never expected to go up against an even greater threat known as Samaritan.

In our recent recaps, in its fifth season, Detective Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman) has uncovered a conspiracy that leads back to Samaritan's master plan for world domination. Even after being tortured and manipulated by Mr. Greer (John Nolan)'s simulations, Shaw (Sarah Shahi) believes there is still hope for her in reuniting with her friends after hearing Root (Amy Acker)'s message. With Samaritan's threat coming closer than ever, will Finch and Reese arm the Machine with weapons to fight back?

As the 100th episode aired Tuesday, May 31 at 10pm on CBS, the Person of Interest crew celebrate the show's milestone event.

MStar News: How does it feel reaching to this 100th episode?

Jonathan Nolan: It's pretty extraordinary! The odds are sort of stacked against you. You write a pilot. You shoot a pilot. You shoot a season. You just going and going and going! That's what it's really all about. The people you get to work with. We have an incredible cast, an incredible crew. That's the fun of it. We want it to keep going!

Denise Thé: Absolutely! At this point, it's such a milestone! And I think we all feel like family! Not only are we family with the cast and crew, we feel the same way about the characters that we're writing. I think it's an amazing feeling!

Greg Plageman: I think it's the strength of the pilot and the premise that Jono wrote. And when we came into it, Jono brought me on board, we need somebody who had execute this! Cut to 100 episodes later and here we are!
