New 'Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them' Poster Has Eddie Redmayne's Wizard & Announcement

The Harry Potter fandom has a lot to look forward to in the next few months, from the July release of the West End sequel play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (and its script) to the J.K. Rowling-penned spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them starring Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander -- and the new wizard movie just got a new poster with an announcement of things ahead!

Last Monday, Warner Bros. released a new poster for Fantastic Beasts through the movie's official Twitter page, and it's downright beautiful. On it, Redmayne can be seen atop a New York City building in what seems like 20s-era attire, as that's the point in history were the film is set.

Even more interestingly, with the poster came the announcement that there's more news on the way for fans, as the tweet referred to "something FANTASTIC" that was going to be announced soon.

Could this be the announcement that a younger version of Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore will be appearing in the film after being mentioned in the trailer? There have been rumors regarding the character's possible appearance for a few months, and it doesn't sound very far off, considering how important Dumbledore is to the magic world, even back in the 1920s.

The role, originated by Richard Harris before his passing in 2002 and then taken by Michael Gambon for the remaining films, is pivotal in the Harry Potter universe -- and the character was about 150 years of age at the time of his death during the events of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Basically, he was already on the older side in the 1920s.

The Fantastic Beasts film will mark the grand return of the Harry Potter universe to the big screen, five years since the last film of the saga, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, landed in theaters in 2011. For book readers, the story ended much longer before: it's been 9 years since the last book of the seven-part story hit bookshelves all over the world.

After releasing a few non Potter-related books like The Casual Vacancy and the Cormoran Strike crime novel series, Rowling has gone back to the Boy Wizard in the past couple of years. Always fairly active in social media and willing to talk to fans about long-running theories, the 50-year-old British author wrote the short story Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is based on, which is already known as the eighth installment of the story that began with 1997's Sorcerer's Stone, as well as penning this film's screenplay.
