After last year's critical smash Beasts of No Nation, where Abraham Attah played a boy who gets caught up in a teen militia in Africa, the young Ghanaian actor is taking on a new genre, much less serious in nature: he's joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Following the footsteps of co-star Idris Elba, Attah will be next seen on Spider-Man: Homecoming.

According to Deadline, the 15-year-old actor has just bagged an undisclosed role in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The movie is shrouded in mystery, and the only details that have been specified so far have been casting choices, as the movie looks larger and larger every week.

Attah's only major role so far has been in the Cary Fukunaga Netflix movie; the film's director discovered Attah when he was discovered he was playing soccer in his native country. Since the film was released last year, this is the first role in a feature -- and it doesn't seem absurd he may have had some help landing the role.

Attah's co-star in Beasts of No Nation is, of course, SAG Award-winning actor Elba, who himself has been part of the MCU since 2011's Thor, and he has played Norse god Heimdall in the franchise in two films since and will next appear on Thor: Ragnarok. Considering the actor had already worked with the rising star, he could have put in a good word for Attah when it came time for casting Homecoming.

This wouldn't be the first time this happens in the MCU. Chris Hemsworth, best known for playing Thor in numerous films in the franchise, talked to the casting people at Marvel during the Spider-Man auditions, saying Tom Holland was right for the role of Peter Parker. Ultimately, the opinion of a superhero will definitely be taken into account when it comes to casting choices!

Marvel is assembling a pretty great cast for Spidey. Holland will be reprising his Captain America: Civil War role as the web slinger, and Oscar-winning actress Marisa Tomei will play Aunt May once again. They'll be accompanied by Robert Downey Jr. in his role of Tony Stark/Iron Man, plus Marvel newcomer Michael Keaton, best known for playing the Caped Crusader in Tim Burton's Batman movies.

Other cast members in Spider-Man: Homecoming so far include Disney Channel superstar Zendaya, Community actor Donald Glover, The Grand Budapest Hotel star Tony Revolori and comedian Hannibal Buress.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, which will begin production later this summer, will be out in theaters on July 7, 2017.
