Tormund Giantsbane, the Wildling who befriended Jon Snow and has his eye on Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones, has turned into one of the most popular characters in the HBO series -- and the actor who plays him could be going on to do bigger things! Kristofer Hivju, who landed the role in 2013, could be joining the DC Extended Universe -- as an Atlantean King in Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Days back, a report surfaced on IGN regarding the actor's involvement in the upcoming superhero team-up film. When someone from the site visited the set, they were shown concept art featuring Hivju's likeness as an ancient Atlantean king. His character, shown in a flashback in Lord of the Rings-like fashion, would be part of a story explaining the reason behind animosity between the Atlanteans and the Amazons, the metahuman race that Wonder Woman is a part of.

However, Heroic Hollywood later tore down all hopes: We won't see Tormund fighting under the sea any time soon. While it seems Hivju was definitely offered the role of an ancient king of Atlantis in the superhero movie, the actor stepped down because the part was too small.

He would have been decent company for another Game of Thrones actor. Jason Momoa, best known for playing Khal Drogo in the HBO fantasy show, already debuted in the role of the King of the Seven Seas in a seconds-long role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and he's set to reprise the role in an Aquaman stand-alone movie.

Snyder's Justice League is currently filming, bringing back the superheroes already introduced to different extents on Batman v Superman: Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel, Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

Considering how large the Game of Thrones cast is as well as the notoriety and pop culture status the show has achieved, it's no surprise to see how many of its stars have gone on to be part of big movie franchises. Tyrion Lannister actor Peter Dinklage and Sansa Stark actress Sophie Turner have both gone on to be part of the X-Men franchise, Brienne actress Gwendoline Christie debuted as a First Order villain in last year's Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Margaery Tyrell actress Natalie Dormer was part of the Hunger Games series, to name a few.
