Kanye West 'SNL' Rumors: Yeezy Returning to 'Saturday Night Live' For Fifth Musical Guest Appearance In May?

Kanye West may return to Saturday Night Live as a musical guest, according to Page Six. Rumors have Kanye performing for the 'SNL' in May, making it the fifth time that Yeezy has performed on the television mainstay.

The publication put Ye's performance date sown as the 18^th but NBC has denied this. Accoridng to a spokesperson for SNL that spoke to HuffPo the lineup for May has not been officially finalized. The only date that has been confirmed for the month of May is the 4^th. On that day, Zach Galifinakis will host while Of Monsters and Men perform.

The last time Kanye performed on the sketch comedy show was in 2010, where he sang "Runaway" and "Power", the former of which was one of the most interesting and artistically daring productions ever put own by the show. Bringing Kanye back at this point could only help the show, as he always brings an insane performance and his penchant for showmanship has only gotten bigger over the last 3 years.

HuffPo adds that West might debut his long-awaited single "I Am A God" (the Post incorrectly refers to it as "I Am God"). The track is set to be the first single off of Yeezy's as-yet-untitled album.

The track caused quite a stir when it was misrepresented (and misnamed) as the title of West's new album. However, a Ye rep cleared up the confusion in an interview with HuffPo.

"We would never be so presumptuous or sacrilegious to call ourselves the supreme being," the source said.
