MTV Series 'Hills' Fake? Ryan Cabrera Talks Audrina Patridge Onscreen Romance

Can you believe that it has been 10 years since the world become obsessed with Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge and Heidi Montag? Well, believe it or not it's true. The girls of MTV reality series The Hills grabbed the country's attention for six longs seasons, but with a tell-all special getting ready to air, some secrets about filming are sure to get revealed including what the deal was with Patridge and her relationship to singer/songwriter Ryan Cabrera.

While fans of the show might go back and forth about the "realness" of the plotlines, Cabrera decided to spill the truth today according to Radar Online.

The singer sat down with the news site and talked about his spot on the upcoming MY2K tour, as well as what it was like to be in front of the cameras with Audrina.

"When me and Audrina did The Hills we were in a real relationship, but what you saw on the show was all fake," the "On the Way Down" singer recalled, according to Radar Online. "They put in scenarios and drama and all that stuff just to make a television show."

However, he does say that while aspect of their relationship were fabricated to make juicy TV, that the part that wasn't made up was the fact that they were actually dating.

"What was going on in our real lives and our actual relationship was completely, completely different," the former reality star stated, according to Morning News USA. "No one really knew about - or will ever know that part because it's private, but when you film for the show, you go along with the storyline. That's just a scripted story of what would appear to be reality."

He also states that he didn't want to be a part of the show, but that since his girlfriend was on it that they wanted to film him too.
