Naya Rivera may have stolen the show as the breakout and most beloved star of the Fox musical comedy Glee, but the actor is revealing that behind the scenes, not everything in her life was pitch perfect. Rivera, who has a new memoir, Sorry Not Sorry, reveals that she battled anorexia on the series and also shares that she had an abortion during her time on the show.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Rivera reveals all the details in her new book, about her decision to terminate her pregnancy while she had a day off from filming the series.

In an expert from the memoir, which was released by PEOPLE, Rivera recalls that she had broken up with her now husband Ryan Dorsey, back when they were dating in 2010 so that she could focus on her career. However, soon after they split, Rivera discovered she was pregnant and decided to take care of the pregnancy while she had the day off from Glee.

"It was very scary to open up about everything," the star explains about sharing the person details in her book, according to The Washington Post. "It's not something a lot of people talk about, but I think they should. I know some people might read it and say, 'What the Hell?' But I hope someone out there gets something out of it."

Rivera's want to be an example to others is also why she decided to shed light on her battling with an eating disorder. She mentions that it was in dealing with her parents split that became one of the contributing factors to her anorexia.

"I was so young and it just seemed to be the norm. Everyone was going through similar stuff," Rivera told the site. "I had no way of knowing if I was going through it worse. I was juggling my feelings and it makes me sad that there are girls still going through that 15 years after I went through it."
