"Train to Busan" has earned international praises and is still gaining popularity online and offline. No wonder a sequel has been confirmed by the movie's producers. It is now confirmed that "Train to Busan 2" production will start on 2017.

According to Enztarz, "The Train to Busan 2" will no longer feature popular South Korean star Gong Yoo. This made fans speculate that producers are looking for the perfect actor to suit the lead role in the zombie flick. Fans had no other pick for role than "Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong Ki.

Director of "Train to Busan" Yeon Sang Ho mentioned that the moment Seok Woo, played by Gong Yoo, became a zombie and fell off the train, he broke his neck and died. Seok Woo sacrificed his life so that his daughter could be safe on board the train leading to Busan.

According to IBTimes, Soong Jong Ki may be part of a group of zombies in the sequel or he may also play the role of a soldier similar to his role in "Descendants of the Sun". The news outlet also mentioned that "The Heirs" actor Lee Min Ho may also play a role in "Train to Busan 2". If the plan of Joong Ki and Min Ho to star in the movie pushes through then this film would surely be an all-star production.

Song Joong Ki is currently filming "Battleship Island" where he plays a Korean Independence group member. The actor has become one of the most sought after stars after the hit of "Descendants of the Sun". Joong Ki has also won a number of awards for the drama series even the highly coveted best actor award at the recent Seoul Drama Awards.

There are no official statements yet about Song Joong Ki and Lee Min Ho to play roles in the "Train to Busan 2". Fans would have to wait for an official word from director Yeon Sang Ho

"Train to Busan" is still being watched by viewers all over the world. It was reported that the movie has beaten several box office records with 99 million USD earnings. Produced by Next Entertainment World (NEW) along with Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox, the sequel is rumored to be produced by Canal Plus, Europa Corp. and Gaumont with remake rights with Content Panda.
