The world was shocked when Google finally announced its new Google Pixel XL as their official match for Apple's iPhone 7. And as this Google Pixel XL marks the best representation of its operating system, are its specs reached the high specs of Apple's iPhone? Is this new Google phone ready to take over Apple iPhone's throne?

As reported by PC Mag, Google's inspiration for the Pixel XL design is immediately evident. It seems to look like this Google's new smartphone is a hybrid between iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus when it comes to design, display and camera features.

When compared, both the iPhone 7 and Pixel XL have a metal unibody while the antenna lines of the latter are from 6s Plus. At the same time, its camera placement and bottom-firing speakers are just like the 7s Plus.

Both have premium designs together with fingerprint sensors. However, iPhone 7 is somehow smaller, slimmer, lighter and waterproof. On the other hand, the Pixel XL has the headphone jack and USB Type-C, as per Pocket-lint.

It is noted that the headphone jack was just recently removed on the iPhone 7 to give way for stereo speakers positioned either side of the Lightning port. Unlike the Pixel XL that keeps the headphone jack intact located at the top.

When talking about the display, Pixel XL has a larger and crisper display in 5 inches with 1920 x 1080 resolution for a pixel density of 441ppi and uses AMOLED. This is extremely different from the 7-inch display of iPhone 7; having a 1334 x 750 resolution in a pixel density of 326ppi and uses LCD.

To describe the camera of the two smartphones, both of it have 12MP rear sensors. But iPhone has a wider aperture and has an optical image stabilization than the Pixel XL. Consequently, Pixel has higher resolution camera and laser detection autofocus along with dual-LED flash.

Though these top smartphones have very closed matched on basic features and designs, it is still users' decision that matters. Both are solidly built with excellent performances too but depends totally in platform prefererence.
