the 6th season of American Horror Story: Roanoke, of the FX horror anthology series, premiered last September 14, 2016.

Co-creator declared, contrary to the previous seasons this season will be more deceiving and dark, the plot and the cast will be kept private until the airing of the first episode.

PopSugar says numerous possible themes were speculated based on different teasers. It is theorized that the inspiration or influence of the theme of season 6 were the 1590s Roanoke Territory because of leaked images.

The season was portrayed the Paranormal Documentary: My Roanoke Nightmare played the experiences of a married couple who moved to Roanoke Island, North Carolina.

According to CinemaBlend FX Horror Anthology released few teasers for this season but most of it were fake and their plan is no one should know until the season starts.
Rumors circulated about a Slenderman a 2009 sensation "a man with a blank face" but later on disproved.

According to Ryan Murphy, the season is about the cult, farm, colony, orphan care or even the Antichrist. The season is about the paranormal documentary My Roanoke Nightmare, the story revolved to a couple who moved from LA California to a residence on  Roanoke Island, North Carolina.

The moment the couple was settled and comfortable in their new home, odd and mysterious events started to bedevil them.

The set design was inspired by a Colonial-era the 1950s set. The building where they shoot was constructed in a hidden California forest, the house is fully functional, finished from outside in.  This season got positive reviews from critics such as Rotten Tomatoes who gave 78% approval rating.

Base from the rating, the secrecy of the storyline and casting this is a season worth watching. I did my own research about the Roanoke Nightmare and yes it is indeed frightening.I would love to see how FX Horror Anthology with delivering the story of the 1950s Roanoke Nightmare.
