Twitter launched the new interact #Music app Thursday, at 10 am. The new service helps Twitter fans find music that's popular on Twitter based on the bands they are following.

After testing the app with music artists and industry execs, Twitter #Music is available at https://music.twitter.com and as a separate app for the iPhone through the App Store, according to ABC News.

The app, also lets you play tracks themselves right in the app-full tracks if you have a Rdio or Spotify account, or 30 second iTunes previews, according to Wired. The bottom line of all this is that it's a place for you to go and find new artists and then (and here's the part that matter for Twitter) follow and promote them.

According to the Twitter Blog, if you're interested in the songs that have been tweeted by the artists and people you follow on Twitter, you can navigate to #NowPlaying to view and listen to those songs.

The app is centered around four pages or tabs, which you can swipe through to access.

The "Popular Page," shows music that is trending on Twitter, the Emerging tab shows "hidden talent" or underground artists found in tweets. The Suggested tab shows artists you might like based on the artists you follow on the service and who they follow. Lastly, the #NowPlaying tab shows songs your Twitter community is listening to or tweeting about.

The app is said the have a significant impact on the music industry, helping new artists to get discovered, and driving traffic for already popular stars.

Wiz Khalifa and Ryan Seacrest were amongst the first in the industry to sample the app. Wiz tweeted April 12, ""Man this new Twitter music app is insane!" What do you think of the new Twitter #Music App?
