Take the 1971 classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory film, then give it a touch of the "Harry Potter" ambiance. Does it spark interest? Because that's exactly what is going to happen.

The rights to the intellectual property of Willy Wonka has been given to the Warner Bros. The producer David Heyman who have worked with Warner Bros. for movies such as the Potter series and Fantastic Beasts is confirmed to be on board the Willy Wonka remake as said in Variety. The source also claim that Michael Siegel (manager of author Roald Dahl's estate) and Kevin McCormick will also be on board as executive producers, while Simon Rich (known for films like "Inside Out" and "The Secret Life of Pets") will be writing the script.

The eccentric character of Willy Wonka was in two of Roald Dahl's novel, 1964 novel "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and the 1972 book "Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator." Although the 2005 remake of the movie with Johnny Depp directed by Tim Burton can be considered as a cute attempt, any Wonka fan can easily say that the first film that starred Gene Wilder will always be better. In fact the sources of The Telegraph claimed that fans aren't too happy with the announced movie remake, people felt that it was a "disrespectful" decision seeing as how the iconic Gene Wilder had just recently passed away.

It also said that the movie reboot will be a prequel to the story hinting that the plot might revolve more on the Willy Wonka character rather than the actual chocolate factory. So far there has been no official announcement as to who the director of this remake will be nor are there any casting decisions made just yet. This may prove to be quite a daunting task seeing as how the public have high expectations with who will play the role of Willy Wonka, a role not even Johnny Depp could do justice at least according to people who grew up loving the Gene Wilder version.
