Lynx Focused on Winning One Step Away From WNBA Title

The Game 5 of the WNBA Finals is near on its series ending and is expected to be more emotional and exhausting for both Lynx and Sparks. Consequently, Lynx is eyeing another one win for the WNBA title.

According to Star Tribune, the league's new playoff format was set up to give its top two regular-season teams a path to the Finals. Lynx just succeeded winning a fourth title in six seasons, will possibly happen to become the first WNBA team to grab another crown as addition to their records after Sparks in 2001-02.

In the unpredictable series, however, players and fans purposefully anticipate the Game 5 to be won by the Lynx team. "It's really cool to think this group can be part of- and we already are- creating those memories for the next generation," Maya Moore said in an interview. "The Comets are a big reason we are who we are right now."

Moore who is averaging 22.3 points in the postseason also added, "Winning the fourth title is something we talked about. We want to achieve everything we can as a group and squeeze every drop of this season, out of this time we have together. It's something we knew was out there. Then it's a matter of locking into what the little details looked like to get that done. Now, we're one step away."

Seimone Augustus recalled that at the beginning of the season, the Lynx only aim to get the fourth title and second in a row and everything happens during the regular season were unexpected. "She said, 'You know what our goal is,'" Augustus said pertaining to the 28-6 WNBA's best record. "'You know what history we can make, how we can seal our legacy.' After that, we bottled it up and put it off to the side until we got to this point."

Star player Moore admitted that she's a bit nervous while preparing and focusing on winning the Lynx one step away from game for the WNBA title."Nothing's ever guaranteed. But I think we have enough experience, and that understanding of what it takes to have a game where you have no regrets. And no matter what happens, we are so proud of this group and what we're done."
