As iPhone 7 continues to dominate the smartphones arena after its launch last month, LG is busy working on what might be the next successor to their LG G5. Although the G5 wasn't really doing well in sales, LG hopes to correct some aspects of the G5 particularly the design factor, in the G6. There is a great chance that the LG G6 will want to take down the next generation of iPhones, more precisely the iPhone 8.

Telling from some of the rumors flying around, the LG G6 will take into account of every milestone achieved by its competitors. iTechpost for instance claims that the LG G6 will feature Samsung's wireless charging component, like the one in their Galaxy S7 Edge. The launch dates have not yet been confirmed but it's likely that the G6 will be launched in mid-April next year (2017) or latest in September.

Its price range is speculated to be between $650 and $700 so this puts it right in the same category as the iPhones, particularly the iPhone 8. LG G6 info website claims that this time the G6 will feature a completely new design, with some smatterings of the G5.

However, the phone is expected to be extremely durable, with waterproof capabilities. The iPhone 8 on the other hand is expected to have an all-glass body, perhaps to make it scratch resistant. When compared to the G6's leathery veneer, iPhone 8 might not stand a chance in terms of durability, against the G6.

On the display attributes, both phones might be at per. The G6 will have a 5.6 inch screen, which will definitely have 4K resolution. The iPhone 8 might also feature 4K resolutions but the tricky part is that Apple has for the larger part being dependent on LG in making their 4K resolution dream a reality. LG and Apple are said to be collaborating in making 4K panels for other Apple devices. The G6 will have 5 GB in RAM and a 3.0GHZ snapdragon Octa-core processor.
