Heading into the end of Week 3 of the MLB 2013 regular season, ESPN sports columnists predict the season outlook team power rankings. The Royals currently rank the no 13 overall team. As sports columnist Diane Firstman points out, "A 4-2 week can't mask the continued sputtering of the offense. The Royals have drawn only 30 walks and have hit four homers in the first 12 games. The pitching, however, has been surprisingly good (3.32 ERA is third-best in the AL). A rare five-game work week is coming up with off days around the Braves and Red Sox series."

Kansas City currently holds a 8-7 winning record having already played the White Sox, Phillies, Twins, Blue Jays, and Rays.

The Red Sox snag the no 11 overall spot (out of 30 teams). According to Hunter Golden, "To be successful in 2013, the Red Sox need Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz to bounce back and have productive seasons. So far, they've done that and more, as the two have combined to post a dominant 1.03 ERA in 33 innings pitched."

After playing the Yankees, Blue Jays, Orioles, Rays, and Indians, Boston has 12 wins and four losses.

Friday evening's baseball game between the Sox and Royals was postponed until Sunday following the devastating Boston Marathon bombing explosion on Monday, April 15. A heated manhunt for the suspects pursued on Friday, resulting in the death of 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev and the arrest of 19-year-old Dzhokar Tsarnaev. #ForBoston and #BostonStrong quickly began trending on social media/networking in honor of the BPD, FBI, and all victims and heroes involved. During an emotional game on Saturday, Boston proved victorious against the Royals with a score of 4-3.

The ball game will be broadcasted live on local channels FSKC and NESN (night game on MLBN), but fans can listen in on the radio at WIBW, 610 Sports.1013 ESPN, WEEI, and The Big Jab.
