Xiaomi has recently added two new phones to its device lineup. Introducing the Mi Note 2 and the concept phone Mi MIX. The duo features larger screens that flaunt their beautiful design but despite similarities in external features and internal hardware, the Mi Note 2 and the Mi MIX are completely different phones.

Anand Tech reported the release of the Xiaomi phones and said that similar to the previous Mi Note version, the Note 2 also has an aluminum frame and glass back plus curved edges. However, instead of having a flat front, the Note 2 has flexible OLED screen to allow a curved edged front similar to Samsung Galaxy phones.

The report also said that the Note 2 will also have a pill-shaped fingerprint sensor which is found right under the phone's large screen. This phone has numerous capacitive navigation buttons, with a sleek lower bezel and a screen-to-body ratio of 77.2%.

The Note 2 has a rear-facing camera that sits flush along the device's smooth glass. A slightly-raised ring protects the camera lens. The 5.7-inch OLED display provides amazing black levels covering 110% of the NTSC color range. The front-facing camera has 8MP with autofocus plus Xiaomi's beauty mode feature. The back camera uses a 22.5MP Sony IMX318 Exmor RS sensor.

On the other hand, Xiaomi Prime has reported that the Note 2 bears Qualcomm's new 821 SoC with four custom Kryo CPU cores and Adreno 530 GPU. It also boasts a 4070mAh non-accessible battery that uses the new Quick Charge 3.0 feature by Qualcomm. Users have the option to choose from a 4GB RAM and a 64GB internal UFS 2.0 storage or a 6GB RAM and a 128GB storage. Unfortunately, these new devices have no support for microSD cards.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be available in two colors: Piano Black and Glacier Silver. There will also be three different versions, two of these will be in China and a global version with 6 modes and 37 frequency bands. The Mi Note 2 will be sold in China from November 1 for CNY 2799  with 4GB RAM / 64GB NAND or CNY 3299  with 6GB RAM / 128GB NAND. On the other hand, the global model will cost CNY 3499 with 6GB RAM / 128GB NAND.
