The all-new Google Pixel has been proven capable of surviving a 30-minute test underwater in a video, putting it at par with the water-resistance qualities of the iPhone 7. Now, to further test its durability, an additional 30 minutes has been added in another test. Will the flagship Google smartphone survive this one?

Tech Times reported that users decided to put Google Pixel to the test after getting just a meager IP53 rating, which means that it's technically not water-resistant. Fortunately, YouTuber Harris Craycraft decided to try and see for himself if the Google smartphone is truly up for the test, contrary to what's written on paper.

Harris tested a Google Pixel unit, yielding a positive result. He submerged the Google smartphone underwater for 30 minutes and found it to be working perfectly afterwards - a result that effectively defied the IP53 rating.

Another curious Youtuber tried the same thing as Harris did. Jonathan Morrison courageously decided to put a Google Pixel unit underwater - this time, for one hour.

And the result? Throughout his entire video, which spanned for an hour, the Google Pixel unit managed to get out of the water in working condition, according to Ubergizmo.

Jonathan had to take the Google Pixel unit out of the water at the 30-minute mark just to make sure that the smartphone's screen didn't time out. There's only a slight difference on the smartphone's speaker, as it seemed to muffle out just a little sound.

Gadget fans and tech enthusiasts out there, however, must be reminded that these underwater tests for the Google Pixel doesn't definitely justify that the smartphone can be brought along for use in diving-related activities. These tests are only to measure the durability of Google's best smartphone yet, but it doesn't mean that people owning the same model should risk doing the same without risks.
