Several reports confirm that troubled Oregonian father Raleigh Reynolds attempted to use his seven-month-old infant son as a human shield during a police standoff in Estacada over the weekend. When the Clackamas County Sheriff”s Office responded to a call about an attempted burglary, they found Reynolds barricaded in his sister's home near Clackamas Way. When officers finally coaxed the suspect out, he threw up his baby son to use as "protection" against any potential gunfire. Negotiators were eventually able to convince Reynolds to hand the unharmed infant over to authorities, and he was promptly arrested.

When police responded to a burglary-in-progress call on Saturday afternoon (April 20), they found Reynolds running into a woman's home. The suspect ultimately barricaded himself in the house which turned out to be where his sister lived. Reynolds attempted to leave the home several times, but ran back inside each time he went to approach the armed authorities.

Reynolds eventually exited his "hideaway" - using his seven-month-old son as a human shield against the cops.

As Reynolds continued to hold up the baby as "protection," negotiators eventually talked him into handing the young child over. He handed the unharmed boy over to authorities, who was then placed in the protection of Reynolds' family members already at the scene. Reynolds surrendered and was promptly arrested.

Police initially feared that Reynolds was armed-and-dangerous, but no weapons were found in his possession after the arrest.

This isn't Reynolds first run-in with the law. Just last month, he allegedly butt-dialed 911 during a drug deal. Officials were then able to track his location using GPS. Reynolds was then arrested on felony drug charges.

Fox 12 reports that due to his latest crime, Reynolds now faces charges of burglary, obstructing governmental administration, endangering welfare of a minor, and resisting arrest. He's scheduled to appear in court on Monday (April 22).
