South Park re-works episode to show Trump’s win

South Park makes last-minute changes on its November 9^th episode. Titled "Oh Jeez", the episode shows the results of the recent presidential elections, wherein Donald Trump won against Hillary Clinton for the White House bid.

The show, now on its 20^th season, originally had the title "The Very First Gentleman", which would have, based from the title, Hillary Clinton taking the Presidential win. As Variety suggests, writers of the show may have assumed that it would be a Clinton victory, based on the early polls in favor of the Democratic Party nominee. The clip for the original episode, as well as the synopsis was quickly pulled out for update. 

On the clip for the episode, which was made available through the show's Twitter account, it showed Randy Marsh and the rest of the Marsh family talking about the new president. While there was not mention of Trump, his campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again" was used as part the dialogue. And while Shelly, Randy's daughter, is not excited with the idea, Ralph's comeback line, as Esquire puts it, captures the painful message of Trump's win with "We've learned that women can be anything, except for president."

 This is not new for South Park, an adult animated series known for its timely parodies of current events and pop culture. Created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, this Comedy Central staple writes and produces each episode in a span of six days. This allows Stone, Parker and the rest of the team to insert recent events into the lives of Cartman, Stan, Kyle and the rest of the residents of South Park. An example of this would be 2008's About Last Night..., which focused on Barack Obama's first Presidential win. The show was aired less than 24 hours after Obama's victory against John McCain. It also featured parts of the speech he gave after the win.
