Sarah Hyland flaunts her vocal skills in “Closer” cover with Boyce Avenue [video]

In a new music video, actress Sarah Hyland showcased her singing prowess along with Boyce Avenue. Doing an acoustic cover for the song "Closer", the Modern Family star proved that she is more than a pretty face.

The 25-year old actress shared on her Twitter account the video of the cover of the song made famous by The Chainsmokers and Hasley, calling the experience a "dream come true". Boyce Avenue, in response, thanked the actress for the collaboration through a tweet as well.

This is not the first time for Hyland, who currently plays Haley Dunphy, to exercise her vocal cords. One of her earlier movies was 1999's Annie, playing an orphan named Molly, which gave her the chance to break out some solos. ET also recalls a previous interview with the star, where she mentioned that she has not "ruled out" making music. With a positive response of the cover, she could give it more consideration.  

Not only is Hyland an effective actress and a potential singer, she could also bust a groove. Before even starting out as an actress, People reports, she did ballet. This could come in handy for her, as she is reportedly headlining the remake of the 1987 film Dirty Dancing.

She was also quite vocal about the results of the recently-ended elections in the US. A recent tweet from the actress read "I will not kneel. I will continue to fight for equality. I will spread love. I will be a warrior of education & kindness. I will NOT kneel."

This is not the first time for Boyce Avenue to collaborate, either. The band, made up of brothers Daniel, Fabian and Alejandro, have had regular collaborations with different artists, mostly Youtube performers. Being Youtube artists themselves, they have released multiple covers of popular songs, as well as songs they originally made.
