'Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Episode 5 Sneak Peek and Updates

"Coming Home Was a Mistake" is this week's title for "Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 5. Stefan (Paul Wesley) is at loss whether he should bring down Damon (Ian Somerhalder) or not.

Inquisitr reported that episode 5 of "Vampire Diaries" season 8 will be about Tyler Lockwood's (Michael Trevino) funeral. However, Steroline, as on-screen love team of Stefan and Caroline (Candice King) is called, may be tested in this episode, having different things to prioritize.

It was known from previous episodes that Damon had been on a killing spree under Sybil's command. Tyler was one of his victims which he left to die in a truck. In the promo, Stefan was telling Caroline that he is at loss with Damon. Caroline replied that what they need to do is to mourn Tyler being both their friend.

Somewhere in the trailer of "Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 5, Stefan tells Caroline that he will do something unforgivable, afraid that he might lose his brother forever. King, in one of her interviews, had said that Stefan trying to save his brother will have an negative impact in their relationship.

Speculations that Stefan might bring back Elena (Nina Dobrev), to hopefully switched Damon's humanity back on. If Stefan will have to take that path to save his brother, it means that Bonnie (Kat Graham) will have to die. Bonnie had cursed Elena to a deep sleep, as long as she is alive.

This could be what will cause the negative impact on his relationship with Caroline as Stefan is not willing to give up on his brother. In this final run for "Vampire Diaries" it was speculated that Nina Dobrev will return.

The series' showrunner, Julie Plec, had told Digital Spy that she has two different endings for the show, one with Elena coming back and the other without. Plec has said that Elena is the show's "centerpiece, heart and soul for a long time" and that it is "emotionally disappointing" not to bring her back.

A lot of speculations about this has surfaced, some says that Dobrev will be back as a different character (as Katherine Pierce) and some says that there is confirmation of her return yet. One way to find out is to tune in to the show every Friday at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
