'The Vampire Diaries': Julie Plec on Nina Dobrev's Return; Actress Returns as Katherine?

The viewers of "The Vampire Diaries" seemed surprised when reports popped up that Nina Dobrev will appear on the show's finale.

"The Vampire Diaries" showrunner series might have just given a great signal. Following the rumors about Nina Dobrev's return, it looks like it is not what fans are expecting.

The T.V. audience of the show noticed something in the latest episode of season 8 titled "Coming Home Was a Mistake." They saw a mysterious death signifying that Dobrev would possibly come back. And it was not her character as Elena but as Katherine.

The majority of the latest series showed the death of Georgie. It was exactly alike the way Katherine died in Season 5. This caused "The Vampire Diaries" to become the center of the discussion of the fans, according to Julie Plec afterward.

Plec talked about the death scene when questioned regarding Dobrev's come back in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. She seemed to indicate a positive tip that Nina could reappear to the show as Katherine. Plec was proposing that she just discovered a direction back from hell.

"I will confirm nothing, but the visual similarities are not accidental," Julie confessed when asked about the very similar ways Katherine and Georgie died.

With that tiny information, fans really feel that Nina Dobrev will return to the finale of "The Vampire Diaries" in a different character. However, Nina and other members of the show remain silent about her much-awaited return.

Moreover, Julie Plec affirmed before that Nina left a promise to reappear for the finale.

"It's what Dobrev and I agreed upon when she pronounced to move on, and it's what I've got in my head," Plec shared TVLine earlier this year. She was emphasizing on the actress' plan to return in the show's finale.
