Soul Train Music Awards Producer Discloses Awardees, Beyonce Stands Out

On Sunday, November 27, the ceremony has been aired on U.S. television. On TV, the show has announced the winners of the Soul Train Music Awards. This award has been done annually to honor the best in Black music and entertainment.

It aired the show which has taken place on 6 November. However, the declaration of winners was not part of the show that very day. The result has not been disclosed. For this reason, when the result was aired on Sunday, many were surprised of the reigning awardee of the ceremony, said The Wrap.

Beyonce, stood over the others that evening. The multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning recording artist, won four awards which included the prize as "Song of The Year" for her "Formation" sound track.

The singer-actress has also garnered "Video of The Year." award. The former all-female singing group member of Destiny's Child hailed triumphant for getting the award as the "Best R&B/Soul Female Artist." Not only that, she has emerged the winner for her album Lemonade which entailed her the award for being the "Album/Mixtape of The Year."

Brandy Norwood, has been one of the notable winners of the ceremony. She got the award as the "Lady of Soul." The singer rendered a medley which last for nine-minutes, coupled with Ma$e they have sung "On Top of the World" from the album Never Say Never, which was Brandy's. They also performed the song "Almost Doesn't Count" and "The Boy Is Mine." On the other hand, Chance the Rapper was named Best New Artist.

Through the social media, American singer-songwriter Brandy expressed her gratitude to the fans for their support. She was grateful as well to the fans who congratulated her. The singer then wrote: "Thank you for all the love...I'm really overjoyed and thankful for this moment in time! There is so much more I've been preparing to give!"

Gong for his track "Fade", the rapper, record producer and singer Kanye West won the "Best Dance Performance." The track featured Teyana Taylor. However, Kanye West was in Los Angeles hospital and has been treated for exhaustion.

To bring back the 90's and to pay homage to the music that has inspired to this wave of generation and to some of the greatest artists in the music industry is the main goal of the ceremony, Erykah Badu told the USA Today. Badu has been the event host and at the same time the executive producer of the show. She and her co-producers were the creators of some segments in the ceremony, according to Noise11.

Indeed, Beyonce owned the night. It also displayed the talents of the Black and had proved that they have gifts of the said craft.
