Barely half a year after Samsung smoked out their smoky Galaxy Note 7, the company has embarked on a serious trail to recovering their good name.  some few months ago, Samsung released the Galaxy Note 7 in a bid to counter Apple's iPhone 7. The hurried release meant that the company didn't get all the facts right. Halfway into production and sales, the handsets begun exploding on user's hands. Within two weeks, Samsung was already in serious compensation lawsuits.

The Note 7 not only roasted the users' hands, but also left a char of carbon on Samsung's long held reputation. I mean, who would buy a smartphone from a company that has begun making cooktops out of smartphones.

In an attempt to recover its huge base of fans, Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy A7 in early January 2017, before their coveted Samsung Galaxy S8 is complete. According to Gizbot, the phone might be released at around the same period when the Galaxy A5 was released this year. The A5 was released in early January 2016.

Judging from its design, you can tell that the Galaxy A7 borrows much from the Galaxy Note 7. The block shape and bold bezels are part of what makes it look like a Note 7. However, these two phones are quite different in terms of features. Phone Arena pointed out that this time, Samsung begun with forwarding the A7 to the FCC for certification. This is probably an indication that they won't be taking chances with this one.

Among the prominent features in the fully certified phone are a 5.7 Super AMOLED display, 3Gigs of RAM and a 32/64 GB internal storage. The phone will be powered by an Exynos 7880 chipset with clock speeds of up to 1.8 GHz.

The battery will be a 3500 mAh battery and it will run on Android V6.0 Marshmallow. The phone will be priced at almost half what the Galaxy Note 7 was valued at. It's expected that it will cost at around $367.
