After playing the Mariners, Astros (twice), Angels, Tigers, and Rays, the A's head into Wednesday evening's game with a 13-8 winning record. Oakland defeated Boston in Game 2 with a score of 13-0.

The Red Sox snag the no 3 overall spot (out of 30 teams). According to sports writer Hunter Golden, "Amidst an incredibly challenging week for obvious reasons, the Red Sox responded about as well as anyone could have hoped for, going 6-0 on the week before dropping both games in the day/night doubleheader Sunday against the Royals. More importantly, they gave Bostonians something to smile about again."

After playing the Yankees, Blue Jays, Orioles, Rays, Indians, and Royals, the Sox snag a 13-7 winning record. the Sox won Game 1 against the A's with a score of 9-6.

Following the devastating Boston Marathon bombing explosion on Monday, April 15, a heated manhunt for the suspects pursued on Friday, resulting in the death of 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev and the arrest of 19-year-old Dzhokar Tsarnaev. #ForBoston and #BostonStrong quickly began trending on social media/networking in honor of the BPD, FBI, and all victims and heroes involved. During an emotional game on Saturday, Boston proved victorious against the Kansas City Royals with a score of 4-3.

Wednesday afternoon's ballgame should prove a great competition between two of the league's top teams.
