Food deliveries are a dime a dozen but the real gold-standard as they say in New York, is to aid 300 meals per hour-a business deal every 12 seconds. Maple which landed funding in 2015 is all about delivering ready-to-eat meals of restaurant quality that ranges from the $10 to $15 range, according to Time.

"For us, the entire process is about doing delivery really well, and doing it with ingredients you can't get anywhere else," Co-founder and CEO Caleb Merkl revealed to the website.

Merkle and his co-founder Akshay Navle who also acts as the chief of operations is not your run of the mill restaurant using a standard technology. The delivery service employs a proprietary software which has tested apps. They have an industrial kitchen that houses all the tested recipes, delivery guys, and kitchen staff.

"The reason we're so tech-enabled is that it allows us to do better food, and to get it to the most people possible. If there was a way to do this without tech, we would certainly look at it. But we don't believe that's true," Navle also mentioned to the website.

According to Fortune, when the company launched in its primary location last April 2015 it began with just around 50 deliveries during peak times per hour. Presently, it can now serve a whopping 800 meals as it has now four kitchens. Such efficiency could be triggered by the fact that Maple operates its own restaurant and delivery system compared to those companies who are limited in connecting with customers via couriers through smartphones.

When Maple launched its first location in April, it served around 50 meals per hour at peak times. Less than a year later, on average it is now serving 800 meals per hour from each of its four kitchens. A few days before I visited in February, it had set a new record: 1,100 meals cooked and delivered in one hour.

The entire workflow of placing an order is easy: Just go to their website. Sign up and browse their friendly user interface and you can access the menu which boasts of seasonal alternatives.
