Carrie Fisher’s Tragic Death Invokes Heartfelt Reactions From Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford

"Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher succumbed to death on December 27, Tuesday. She was battling between life and death in hospital after experiencing a massive cardiac arrest on a flight from London to Los Angeles.

Fisher played an iconic role of Princess Leia in the first "Star Wars" trilogy, released in the 1970s and also in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." She was 60 at the time of her death.

Following Fisher's death, her mother Debbie Reynolds posted a quick note on Facebook. She thanked all of her daughter's supporters for accepting and embracing the gift and talent of her amazing daughter.

She also thanked her fans and supporters for all the prayers and said that it will guide her through her next stop. The formal announcement triggered a series of reaction from celebrities who had worked with her and those who had known Fisher closely.

Fisher's co-stars, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford were among the first ones to pitch their reactions. Ford, who played the character of Princess Leia's beloved Han Solo, described Fisher as emotionally fearless, brilliant, funny and original.

According to Daily Mail, Fisher had an intense relationship with Ford that lasted for a period of three months. They both fell in love during the filming of the first "Star Wars" trilogy in 1976. At that time, Fisher was just 19, she had confessed in her book titled the "Princess Diarist."

Fisher kept this fact a secret for over a period of 40 years. Ford was married to his first wife, Mary Marquardt, at the time of their secret affair.

Hamill, who played the role of iconic Luke Skywalker in the film, was also left devastated by Fisher's death. He tweeted latest on Tuesday that he has "no words," The Washington Post reports.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director, J.J. Abrams also had kind words to say about Fisher. He used a pen to jot down his thoughts about the late actress and said that she was tough, wonderful, incisive, brilliant and beautiful.
