iOS 10.3 to drop by January 10th? Theater mode feature to be unveiled?

January promises to be an exciting month for Apple users as rumors are rife that the latest iOS update will be sporting the Theater Mode.

It can be recalled that when the iOS 10.2 was released last month, it featured cool new features like updated emoji characters, some improvements to Music  and its TV app. It was also able to release the beta version of iOS 10.2.1 which featured bug fixes and improved performances for the apps.

iOS 10.3's main feature will  be a Theater Mode which will have a popcorn icon. The rumors were leaked by Sonny Dickson, who has, on occasion offered solid leads on latest tech news.

"iOS 10.3 to feature a new Theatre mode - will include a new popcorn-shaped Control Center icon," he tweeted. What's more, Dickson hinted that beta for the iOS could drop as early as January 10^th which means that the feature could be available by next week.

While little official information is available on the feature, there are speculations that it is an enhanced version of the Dark Mode which was previously made available on the iOS 10 beta version, reported 9to5Mac.

Theater mode could also be an updated version of the Do Not Disturb feature of the iOS, which shuts off all types of alerts once activated.

Speculations are made stronger that the iOS 10.3 could be coming sooner than later because of the expected release of the latest iPad versions in March or April this year. The new devices are expected to use the latest iOS version which is the iOS 10.3.

Aside from the Theater Mode, the iOS 10.3 is also expected to feature updated support for the Apple Pencil that will complement the updates being done to the hardware, reported the MacRumors website.
