After grabbing his first Roc Nation signee in Yankee Robinson Cano and selling his small share in the Brooklyn Nets, Jay-Z is ready for his sport agency Roc Nation to land its first major score. And reports have him gunning for top NHL prospect Seth Jones.

It appears that Jones- a defenseman who is already represented by Roc Nation partner CAA- will continue to be represented by CAA in contract negotiations, however the marketing boost that Jones could receive via a partnership with Jigga (who is officially a businessman and not just a business, man) could reap untold dividends.

"CAA Sports is proud to represent Seth Jones in all of his on and off the ice endeavors, spearheading all contract negotiations and marketing on his behalf," Jones's agent Pat Brisson told TSN.ca. "We are always looking to access all of the resources and relationships across the agency to bring new opportunities to our clients. Roc Nation and CAA Sports have recently announced a relationship which could be beneficial to our athletes."

Jay-Z's reasons for going after Jones are obvious. On top of being a marquee talent (he's projected to go first in the upcoming NHL Draft) he's also mixed-race making him marketable to a number of different demographics that the average hockey player cannot reach. This expanded marketing push has the potential to bring tons of cash money to Jones and his representatives (and may help the NHL overall by providing an influx of curious new onlookers).

Beyond what he means for advertisers and the league, Jones is primed to make some team very happy.

This season he posted 14 goals and 56 points in 61 games this season for the Western Hockey League's Portland Winterhawks. Jones is viewed as a complete package who can defend as well as score regularly.

Jones comes from a sports family. His father is former NBA baller and current Nets assistant coach Popeye Jones. Popeye spoke on the possibility of his son being the first black player to be taken number 1 overall (and just the 7th American player).

The way Amy and I always raised our boys, we told them they had the best of both worlds, they were black and white,'' said Popeye Jones in an interview with OregonLive. "We never had any racial issues. ... we've discussed this, and I think Amy and I know, and Seth knows, that he's probably looked at more as an African-American player. That's fine, he accepts that responsibility and understands he has a chance to help grow the game and hopefully bring more inner-city kids into the sport.''

What do you think? Will Jay-Z's Roc Nation score a deal with Seth Jones? Are you excited to see what happens with Jones?
