Dzhokar Tsarnaev, the Boston bombing suspect who was captured last week, has fascinated internet sleuths ever since his name started making headlines. Curious web diggers have unearthed several social media profiles, wish lists and other accounts attached to Tsarnaev in an attempt to get inside the mind of the suspected Boston Marathon bomber. One interesting thing these cyber-detectives found, Dzhokar appeared to be a fan of Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z.

"No one is really violent until they're with the homies," wrote Tsarnaev on Twitter. The quote is from Kendrick Lamar's "The Art of Peer Pressure" off of his standout studio debut good kid, m.A.A.d. city.

Much like the sentiment of the tweet, the quote is harmless on its own. However, in conjunction with reports of the suspect's  brainwashing and radicalization by an as-yet unidentified figure known as "Misha" the K. Dot reference gets spooky.

"Ain't no love in the heart of the city, stay safe people," Tsarnaev posted hours after  the bombings occurred. Many people took this to be a reference to Jay-Z's "Heart of The City (Ain't No Love)" and by association 9/11. The album from which "Heart" hails was released on September 11, 2001.

While Dzhokar's social media ramblings appear to be rather normal a look at older brother Tamerlan's accounts shows a steady radicalization. In January, Tamerlan posted a link to a Youtube video called "The Emergence of Prophecy: The Black Flags From Khorasan." The video speaks on a doomsday prophecy that is rumored to be embraced by Al Qaeda. The prophecy predicts that radical Islamists will rise up in a Central Asian jihad and defeat infidels.  Another link to firebrand preacher Feiz Muhammad has been removed.

An in-depth study of the profiles of both of the Boston bombing suspects can be found over at the New York Times. It's worth a read.
