Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have allegedly been approached to star in the upcoming remake of 1955's Guys and Dolls, a film adaptation of the stage musical of the same name. The original, Academy Award nominated movie starred Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando as Nathan Detroit and Sky Masterson respectively. Reports make it seem like Tatum would fill in Sinatra's shoes and Gordon-Levitt would be the new Brando. 20th Century Fox just closed the remake deal, so no contracts or even a script have been completed so do not get your hopes up. Though, rumor has it that both actors are very interested.

The original film follows Nathan Detroit, a gambler trying to raise money for a crap game, and his friend Sky Masterson and a bet they make. Guys and Dolls as a film and Broadway musical garnered many awards and nominations and even came close to a Pulitzer prize, too!

This film remake has been rumored for a very long time with actors such as Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Vin Diesel all showing interest. Though these actors did not see much success with getting this production off the ground, it looks like Channing and Joseph might just luck out.

Channing and Joseph have worked together on numerous occasions. They were in the films G.I. Joe: The Rise of CobraStop-Loss, and Havoc together. Most recently they were both part of Seth MacFarlane's opening number for the 2013 Academy Awards ceremony, showing how they would fit in perfectly in the film version of the Broadway musical.

Earlier in his career Tatum danced his way into stardom with his movie Step Up and recently starred in Magic Mike as a stripper. Gordon-Levitt has shown his dance talents in 500 Days of Summer and when he hosted "Saturday Night Live" two times. What we mean is that they can dance and Joe can sing, too!

Another good aspect of this possible casting is that the two are very good friends in real life.

What do you think of this casting? Do you think these two young stars can fill these imposing shoes?
