Using Amazon's Alexa, you can now order takeout food from Amazon Restaurants. Alexa is Amazon's smart AI (artificial intelligence) home assistant that functions in a similar way to Apple's Siri and Google Now.

The device boasts over 7,000 skills, including playing music, reading the news, controlling your smart home devices; it can even tell a joke! Alexa lives in the cloud so it's always getting smarter. The more you talk to Alexa, the more it adapts to your speech patterns, vocabulary, and personal preferences.

This new skill from Alexa allows Amazon Echo owners to reorder from any restaurants available on the service in more than 20 cities in the United States just by saying "Alexa, order from Amazon Restaurants". However, this is exclusive for Amazon Prime members only.

Amazon explained how it works to The Verge. Amazon Prime members can ask Alexa to reorder from Amazon Restaurants by saying a restaurant name or cuisine type, for example, "Alexa, order sushi from Amazon Restaurants." The service pulls a customer's order history from a specified restaurant or cuisine type and lists meal options available for reorder. The selected meal is then sent for delivery to a customer's default address.

Amazon Restaurants was launched in 2014, and is currently available in Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Brooklyn, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland, Manhattan, Miami, Minneapolis, Northern Virginia, Orlando, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay area, Seattle, and Tampa.

In a report by Bay News 9, Gus Lopez, General Manager of Amazon Restaurants at Amazon, said "Customers now have a hands-free, hassle-free way to reorder any meal from Amazon Restaurants using their voice to get dinner on the table,". He also added "We are excited to leverage the innovative Alexa technology and give Prime members another easy way for Amazon Restaurants to take care of dinnertime with no menu markups and free delivery in one hour or less."

So if you're a member of Amazon Prime member, have an Echo Dot on your home, and live within the cities we mentioned, then give Alexa's new skill a try now and leave a comment down below!
