Mariah Carey and Miguel collaboration? Our ears are smiling with elation. Just when the rumors that Mariah’s “American Idol” days might be coming to an end, the Grammy Award winning diva, reminds fans that she is a singer first and foremost, if not the best judge ever.

Mimi released a 25 second teaser video for the song ‘Beautiful’ via her website, hinting at a possible collaboration with Miguel.

The video starts off with Mimi’s laughter and a crackling sound, lullabied by a guitar riff, all while Mariah’s luxurious mane blows in the wind revealing her face. The track rewinds as Carey continues to giggle, then "Mariah" flashes on the screen and we catch a quick glance of Miguel in a mirror. A possible song title #Beautiful flashes on the screen, followed by the date “05.06.13.”

The ‘Beautiful’ teaser confirms that Mariah is back in the studio and ready to release music outside of her recent holiday genre. This would be Mariah’s first no-holiday related album since her 2009 Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Mimi is said to be making another classic, working with a number of major producers, including Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Rodney Jerkins and Jermaine Dupri, according to MTV News.

A Mariah and Miguel collaboration has been a long time coming. As leaks about a possibly Grammy Award Winning collaboration between the two vocal powerhouses appeared on social media. MTV news reported that sound mixer Fletcher Allison, who works for video director Joseph Kahn, wrote about being on set with the twosome in a since-deleted tweet tweet. "Working on a Mariah Carey + Miguel video for the man Joseph Kahn," he wrote. "Wouldn't trade this for 1,000 Coachellas."
