Upcoming Moto G5 Plus Device Revealed In Leaked Photos

Popular Moto G4 series was released in the May 2016 and before it could complete the one-year life cycle, the company seems to have working on its successor as well. The Moto G5 series might launch soon.

This news emerged when a user in Romania has reportedly gotten hold of the mystery Moto device (model number: XT1685), understood to be a fully functional prototype of Moto G5 Plus, and is selling it on e-commerce site OLX for RON (Romanian Leu) 1,650, approx. $390/Rs.26, 440.

The listing on OLX seems to have been removed, but images ripped by a helpful Redditor show a legit-looking Moto device.

Specs of the device which was listed on the post includes a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 625 processor, with 4GB of RAM, and 32GB internal memory. Device also claims to feature 3,080 mAh battery, and 13-megapixel rear-facing camera.

However, there's a micro-USB for charging, and the whole thing runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. We can see a few minor cosmetic changes on comparing it to older devices in the G-series, which is the fingerprint sensor is oval rather than square; the camera bump is circular rather than oval, similar to the Moto Z. Overall, it all fits with Motorola's design language.

According to 9to5goole, an interesting side-note of this device is identical to leaked renders and photos, which had surfaced last year of what was then claimed to be a new Moto X. If the specs in this listing are correct this device would obviously not be standing among the high-end Moto X range.

From the leaked image it was stated that on the front, it features a camera on top right corner, single-grille speaker at centre with 'moto' branding. On the below side we see a curved rectangular physical home button, which we believe will also double up as fingerprint sensor.

Overall, the new Moto G5 Plus' design language looks really different, even though the device is fully functional; Moto has not made any official comments on the leaked images of Moto G5 series.
