Marvel's "Black Panther" has tapped the services of Emmy-nominated actress Phylicia Rashad, "This is US" actor Sterling K. Brown revealed. Brown went to say that the "Black Panther" will also be a socially relevant film.

In an interview, Brown said that Chad Boseman is the perfect person to portray T'Challa, the titular character in the film and accidentally revealed Rashad's name, Comic Book reported.

"I just worked with Chad [Boseman] on a film called Marshall, about Thurgood Marshall. He's such a talented human being and a deep soul," he said.

He also said that he is excited to work with the rest of the cast who have also done a stellar job embodying their roles in the past. Among his co-stars will be heavy hitters in the acting industry such as Forest Whitaker, Danai Gurira, Michael B. Jordan and Phylicia Rashad.

Shortly after the interview was posted online, Rashad's name was reportedly omitted from the quote. Rashad's addition to "Black Panther" is hardly surprising because she has worked with its director Ryan Coogler on a "Rocky" spin-off, "Creed."

As for the film itself, Brown said that the film addresses the current climate of Africans and African-Americans in America and across the world. He said that the film is "politically astute" and "incredibly socially revant," ET Online news reported.

Brown said that he will play a character named N'Jobu who has a history with T'Challa. However, he declined to reveal more details because he is not permitted to do so.

N'Jobu does not appear in existing "Black Panther" comics. MCU and comic book fans alike offered several theories on who the character might be. Others think that he could be T'Chala's mentor which others also said that the character could be the father of T'Challa's arch nemesis Erik Killmonger (Jordan).

"Black Panther" is slated for release on Feb. 16, 2018.
