An awesome take on the Rocky Horror Picture Show is coming to town. Next month, a production of Rocky Horror will be performed by a majority of local cast, while the classic cult movie plays behind it. Rocky Horror follows newlyweds Brad and Janet who stumble into the mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, the mad scientist.

The show is R18 and it will be on February 18 at 4th Wall Theatre. According to an article on Stuff, this is your only chance to watch glassblowers, wood turners and tattoo artists in action. The Original Gypsy Fair is heading to Taranaki and is bringing a plethora of knowledge with it. This year's tour highlights it's its leather work, tarot cards, body piercing, face painting, hair braiding, candy floss and many more. The gypsy fair is at Merrilands School from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday, January 14 and Sunday, January 15.

Meanwhile, The North Taranaki Arts Society offers workshops with renowned artist Maxine Thompson for the end of the month according to an article on Taranakidaily News. Seascapes will be on January 28, and Crystal and Glass will be on the 29th. She usually works in pastels and is applicable in any medium. A play focusing on the struggles of transgenders 100 years ago and is continuing to face today is coming soon to Inglewood. Jack Martelli, a female-to-male transgender man wants to be himself. However, he 's is also struggling to live a stable life in an era where gender difference was considered perverted, rejected, a curse and entirely evil.

Entertaining, charismatic and exquisitely crisp are just some to describe Fiona Pears, a talented violinist and a composer from Christchurch based on a recent article on Eventfinda. Her musical influences were as follows: Stephane Grappelli, Django Reinhardt, John Williams and Jean Luc Pointy. Pears performs Celtic, classical, tango, jazz and gypsy with balanced ease, oftentimes all in the same page. Pears has performed and recorded with such artists such as the likes of Dave Dobbyn, Hayley Westenra, Bic Runga, and Tony Bennett, Ottmar Liebert and "the clown prince of Denmark", the late Victor Borge and with her talented and extremely gifted band, Pears will perform her compositions on Saturday February 11, 7.30pm at 4th Wall Theatre. These are just some of the preview of what's to come in New Plymouth and you don't' want to miss any of these or you will regret it for life!
