It's been eight months (and running) since Amber Heard filed for divorce from husband Johnny Depp. If both parties are willing and amicable, things like this can be over and done with within six months in LA. But with the way things are going, it could take much longer than expected.

On August 16, Heard and Depp in a joint statement said that their relationship was very passionate and at times, but it has always been bound by love. Furthermore, both parties hadn't made any false accusations for financial gain. Neither was there any intent to cause physical or emotional harm. Heard wishes the best for Depp and will be donating the proceeds from the divorce to charity. There will be no more public statements regarding this matter per Entertainment Online.

Come August Depp sent the checks to ACLU and Children's Hospital of Los Angeles in Heard's name. These are the two organizations that she wanted to divide the $7 million divorce settlement.

Although she considers Depp's direct donations 'great and unexpected news', an inside source from Heard's team told E! News that if Depp wanted to change the settlement agreement, they must insist that he honor the entire $14 million to charity. They also insist that the entire amount be paid immediately. They refuse for it to be drawn out over many years.

Neither Johnny Depp nor Amber Heard had signed off for good on their divorce, they cannot because they still need to agree how the charitable institutions are going to get their money. On November 28 TMZ reported that ACLU and the Children's Hospital has not yet received the $100,000 that Depp gave them. Apparently, Heard also sent ACLU a $350,000 assuming that she will get reimbursement from the settlement.

Come December 1 Depp finally agreed to give Heard the remaining $6.8 million directly. This made people think that the settlement will hopefully come to an end. But two weeks after Depp still hadn't signed off. Heard's team then filed a Request for Order. With this the judge will be the one to enforce the pre-arranged terms of the settlement. But Depp claimed Heard violated their confidentiality agreement by announcing to donate the proceeds to charity.

Heard, on the other hand, accused Depp's camp of being shady by leaking info to the media, putting her in a bad light. For more Johnny Depp and Amber Heard divorce news and latest tidbits, keep it here on MStars News. Hit us with your feedback in the comments below.
