It appears that everyone's favorite "Someone Like You" songbird Adele has had enough downtime with her newborn baby and is back in the studio to release an album by mid-2014.

"Adele is currently in a recording studio in London and it's in lockdown mode for the next few weeks. Four tracks are finished in terms of writing and she's now laying down preliminary vocals with backing music and singers," an industry insider told The Mirror.

""The rest of the record will be done in LA. The feel is very much Adele going back to her roots, with some modern jazz and a couple of classic old songs."

While pretty much everybody should be excited for the 21 follow-up, there is one lady who might not be: Susan Boyle. SuBo is Adele's labelmate at Columbia-Sony and her latest release has been put on the backburner to make way for Adele.

"Both Adele and Subo have done incredibly well and both are very important artists," the source said. "While Subo is still a big-hitter and there are high hopes for her next album, Adele is the priority.

"Some of those within Susan's camp are worried that this is not a good sign, but label bosses have been quick to reassure them that Susan still has an incredibly bright future," the source added.

Adele's last album 21 has topped the charts as the biggest selling release of both 2011 and 2012.

"Stateside, she has never been hotter," admitted the Mirror's source before saying fans should expect the album in "mid-2014."

Since the birth of her baby boy in October, Adele has taken a break from music.
Adele values her privacy and has gone so far as to hide the face of her infant son from cameras when she ventures into public.

While Adele hasn't been recording anything until now, she did perform her Oscar-winning Bond theme "Skyfall" at the Academy Awards in February.

What do you think? Are you excited for Adele's new album? Do you think it will top the charts for several years in the same way 21 did? Also, why is there no love for 19?
