Just after the official releases of Pokémon Sun and Moon, some battle glitches were found in the game. In particular, two Z-Moves were causing problems during the battle and there were cases that the Rocky Helmet held item would change the result of a battle.

However, Game Freak has finally uploaded a patch to the Nintendo eShop, which will update Sun and Moon, so that these glitches are eliminated.

According to Serebii, the patches are will go online and to participate in official events. This Sun and Moon patch fixes the moves Z-Parting Shot and Z-Memento on the Battle Spot and a glitch in regards to the winner of a game if Rocky Helmet knocks the opponent out when you're knocked out.

There was also a glitch presented that prevented Kadabra learning Confusion when Abra evolved and this will also be fixed with the new patch update of 1.1.

When a Pokémon uses its Z-Power while holding Darkinium Z, it can make the Z-Parting Shot and Z-Memento moves. The former will lower the opponent's Attack and Special Attack by one stage, and then the latter on sharply lowers both. In the previous version of the game, glitches in both moves caused "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" to crash, so Game Freak has now decided to remove them from the games with the new update.

With the new patch, Game Freak has enabled the two features once again, so players can use them in online battles. Moreover, the glitch that is affecting Rocky Helmet is also addressed by this patch. The patch consist a remedy for the glitch that wouldn't allow a Pokémon to learn a move upon evolving, such as in the case of Kadabra and Confusion.

Parting Shot and Memento were banned from competitive play because of the said glitch and will continue to be banned until Battle Season 2 starts on Jan. 17. Battle Season 2 will, nevertheless, allow for the entire National PokeDex to be used online when Pokémon Bank is eventually updated.

Players are advised to update their games via the eShop, so that they will be informed that with the new patch, previous saved battle videos will be unwatchable.

Forbes as reported that players only managed to accomplish 60 percent of the mission of second global mission, which required them to capture or defeat 1 million monsters using the Island Scan feature. This patch is 296 blocks to download, and it brings good news to players.
