Ever since Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" dropped, you can't swing a cat without hitting a remix or cover. However, even among the thousands of competitors, this cover by Dutch rap-reggae group Postmen (featuring a hecka pregnant lady on vocals) is something to see.

On Dutch station 3FM, the group provided a slightly more soul-tinged version with a considerable shot of Caribbean flavor. Pharrell's vocals are turned into a duet in the verses that melds together into a nice harmony on the chorus. The group even added their own rap verse to the song to cap it all off.

That the influence of "Get Lucky" can be felt as far as the Dutch reggae-rap world is not surprising. The track broke the record for most streams in a single day on Spotify, and the number of covers/remixes it inspired almost matches the number of fake leaks that the teaser trailer hatched.

In terms of "Get Lucky" related art, I'd say this ranks up there with that amazing fan-made video.

Why is "Get Lucky" so popular? Besides the obvious (it's Daft's first release since 2005) maybe it is the super upbeat, throwback feel of the song. In an EDM landscape dominated by cold and crisp samples, the robots have created something that sounds...almost human. In their own words:

"Pharrell Williams sings this song: it was natural to invite our album. It is a born performer, complete, which produces a lot of elegance. It has not always had the opportunity to show he could be a great singer, so that we can include it in the pantheon of legendary performers. There is no imaginary line that separate the great artists of the past and present who are all worse than before. We wanted to give the impression of being in a capsule in the studio, isolated from the world. One can believe in 1978, but our idea is to travel this music in the present and in the future, see what happens and see if this enthusiasm is contagious."

What do you think? Have you been jamming out to Daft Punk's "Get Lucky"? Do you like the route that Postmen took? Are you ready for the new album and tour?
