'Blackberry Mercury' To Launch At MWC 2017: Release Date, News & Update

Blackberry Mercury and other blackberry devices will be debut at the Mobile World Congress (MCW), which is scheduled to hold February but is expected to be available for sale not long after. BlackBerry was on the verge of dying when TCL Communication Technology Holdings (TCT), the Chinese company that produces Alcatel phones, picked up the license to continue development.

After it leaked last year, there have been so much expectations and speculations by technology experts about the device. It boosts the excitement of the rejuvenated Blackberry developing crew who wants to return to the top of the Smartphone industry.

TCL revealed a tidbit of what to expect of the latest Blackberry phone last week at CES 2017. However, TCL have now released more updates on the latest device have now been announced by and here are some of the things to know about the new Blackberry handset.

The device is designed to be known as "Blackberry Mercury," according to CNET. Although the device will not be available to Indian market, there is a possibility that it will be released by a different manufacturer. According to reports, Blackberry said that they are looking for license partners to bring the new phone to a global scale.

Furthermore, the speculations, features, benefits and other details of the new the devices will be showcased at the MWC 2017. In December, Licensing agreements was confirmed for Blackberry and TCL, with the latter holding the rights to make and sell the brand in all countries across the globe with the  exception of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

The developers are hoping to partner with distributors and manufacturers in Indonesia - one of Blackberry's largest markets. They have finalized a deal with Blackberry's Merah Putih, according to Fbappsworld.

The release of the new Blackberry Mercury is underway in Indonesia and it will not be long before the device is available for purchase. The GM and COO for Blackberry Mobility Solutions, Ralph Pini states that they are in the midst of a great momentum with regards to the strategy in licensing in an effort to bring the Blackberry products to the rest of the world. This simply suggests that the company is doing its best to meet it targets and goals amid hurdles in other territories.  

At the CES 2017, a glimpse of the device was revealed which described the Blackberry Mercury as the last phone designed and engineered by in-house Blackberry developers. More details about the device will be revealed at the MWC 2017 next month. The BlackBerry Mercury is expected to be available for purchase shortly after the MCW.
