Celine Dion Still Mourning One Year After Dear Husband Rene Angelil's Death

One year after her dear husband's death, Celine Dion still mourns the passing of Rene Angelil and pays tribute to her love whom she was married to for over 21 years. On Saturday, January 14, Dion posted on social media touching tribute to her husband on his first death anniversary.

In her official Facebook page, the 48 year old songstress wrote her message both in French and English. She said that today, it's been a year since Rene left them. He will always be in people's hearts. The same message was posted on Instagram with an image of the couple embracing each other.

First Christmas Without Rene

Come Thursday, January 12, the 'My Heart Will Go On' belter shared an image of herself with her three boys gathered around the Christmas tree. Dion was in a white polar bear sweatshirt and sweatpants, and the six-year-old boys, twins Eddy and Nelson were donning their Santa Claus PJs. Oldest brother Rene-Charles, 15, stands behind his family per Us Weekly.

The Battle With Cancer

Rene Angelil finally lost his battle with throat cancer at the age of 73. He was Celine Dion's manager since she was twelve years old up until 2014 when he had to step down because of his health condition.

In an interview with CBS Sunday morning, she said that it was very difficult for all of them before he left especially for her and the kids. When he finally passed away and his suffering finally over she knew he was okay. Because he deserves not to suffer.

The Powerful Acappella Song

On Angelil's first death anniversary Dion uploaded a video of her singing a powerful acappella. She was shown tracing her hand on family photographs in the candle littered room. Celine is scene on the bed, surrounded with more images of their family. Teary-eyed, she laid down on a heart-shaped pillow. Staring at the photograph, she finally smiles. The video ends with the Canadian star kissing a dream catcher before hanging it by the bedside per Mail Online.
