On Friday afternoon's episode of "The Dr. Oz Show" (April 26), 38-year-old "Desperate Housewives" starlet Eva Longoria opens up about her devastating divorce from NBA star Tony Parker. Longoria entered a state of depression following the split, and she admits that she got "so skinny" because she simply wasn't eating. Since then, Longoria has adopted a much healthier and optomistic outlook on life. Read on for more details!

Longoria marred the French b-baller in July 2007 - their divorce was made official in 2011. In the months immediately following the separation, the stunning actress became severely depressed. She lost lots of weight, and people were actually complimenting her on her slim figure, not realizing the seriousness of the situation. "The time I got the most compliments, because I was so skinny. I was not eating. I was depressed. I was sad. My diet was coffee," Longoria reveals to Dr. Oz. "People kept saying, 'You look amazing. Divorce agrees with you. And I was like, 'I don't feel good. I have no energy.' I didn't know I was depressed. I mean, I knew it was a sad moment in my life, but I wouldn't categorize myself as depressed."

Longoria soon realized that something wasn't right, and went to her doctor for blood tests - "I was just depleted of every vitamin," Longoria reveals. "He said it's as if somebody took a straw and sucked everything out of your body. 'You don't have any iron and your liver's overacting.' It was like all these things were physically wrong with my body, so I had to saturate with vitamins and kind of get back on this track."

Longoria's health scare was a sudden wake-up call - she now practices a much-healthier way of living. "I cut out all sugar. Anything that turns into sugar is sugar. I love a soda, I'm not a chocolate candy person, but, I like pasta in anything," Longoria said. "For about three months, I did a really strict no sugar diet, and I had more energy than I've ever had. My palate was different. Things tasted better."

And she looks absolutely gorgeous!
