Fans of the longest running fantasy horror series in the US, "Supernatural" will have plenty to look forward to when the second half of season 12 returns to The CW on January 26 as Mary Winchester and Cas would have to work with an unlikely ally in order to save Dean and Sam.

According to an Entertainment Weekly recap for the episode titled "LOTUS" which aired last December 8, the brothers were arrested by government agents after they tried to take down Lucifer, who conveniently inhabited the body of the President of the United States as his latest vessel.

In the upcoming episode titled "First Blood," it is expected to follow the brothers as they try to figure out a way out of a secret facility where they are being kept by the government and it would be up to Cas and Mary to spring them out. The synopsis cited that they might have to enlist the help of an "unlikely source" which may be the Men of Letters.

The theory sprung from a recent TVLine interview with showrunner Andrew Dabb who said that the organization will have a very specific reaction to the Winchesters' arrest.

For his part, Jensen Ackles teased that the "Supernatural" Season 12B will see a lot of arcs pertaining to the organization and that they will not be slacking off in terms of recruiting the brothers into their fold.

"We're going to see that storyline get fleshed out in the second half of the season. There are going to be some recruitment attempts, some disagreements about methods of hunting, and that will certainly boil to a point," he said.

Meanwhile, even as the show gears to release the back half of the dozenth season, there is good news for loyal fans of the show as The CW has announced its renewal for Season 13 for the 2017-2018 TV season, as per Release Date.

"Supernatural" returns to The CW on January 26 with a new timeslot of 8 pm.
